We all have a passion, something we love, but it’s easy to let your business get in the way and so you have no time to ‘do you’.
There’s only so many hours in the day. Most of us run around like mad things all day long, checking things off our to do lists, buzzing between appointments, getting stuff done.
If you want something done just ask a busy person!
And the thing that gets pushed to the back, the thing that’s always last, is you. Everything else – your business, your clients, your kids, your family, your committees – everything else comes before you so and you find yourself last.
We’ve all go something inside us, a passion, something we love. For me it’s writing. Apart from all the stuff I write for Project Bloom, which I love, I also write fiction. There’s nothing more satisfying than getting into your characters head and telling their story. I guess it’s a control thing! Everything works out exactly how I want it to. Except occasionally when a pesky character decides to take over (in fact, that’s how Luke became the main character in the short story I wrote for my writers group anthology – New Years Eve – free on Amazon, but I digress…).
It’s taken some time for me to be able to make space for my writing in my life. A few years ago I decided that I needed to do something just for me. I had to work hard to make room for it and I still do, but it’s something I love.
So that’s my thing. What’s yours? Because we’ve all got one. Maybe you want to write too, or maybe it’s photography or art or music. Maybe you just want to play the drums. Or bake gourmet cupcakes. Or learn how to pole dance.
So here’s the thing.
You’ve got to do your thing. You’ve got to make the time, somehow, some way, to do the thing that makes you lose track of time. Something that you do just for you. And if you don’t know what it is, then you’ve got to find it.
But first, you have to make space for it in your life and for us biz women that means making time in our business. Which brings us back to the numbers. You’ve got to get your business humming, making enough cash, so you can afford the support you need, to free up your time to do what you love. Hey, it might even just be to reclaim your Saturday mornings so you can go to your kids sport like all the other mums.
And the first step to do that is getting in touch with your numbers. My short course The Numbers That Matter will help with that and once you start to get your business working the way you want it to, it creates space and gives you back your time so that you can follow your passions and ‘do you’.
Because time goes past too quickly. If you don’t do it now then when will you?
You’ve got one life, create the space to ‘do you’. I know you’re going to be amazing.
P.S. The early bird price for The Numbers That Matter online course is only until Sunday night. Don’t miss out! Learn exactly what you should be doing when you look at your numbers. It’s not just about ‘doing the books’. Sure, that’s important but what’s more important is what you do after everything is reconciled and accounted for.
I’d love for you to join me. Just click on the Sign Up NOW! link below and make sure you choose Early Bird from the drop down box.
