There are times when you lose your way. When you just drift along and don’t really achieve anything. You dither and stress and are really ‘busy’ but you don’t actually achieve anything. Not anything that will help you long term anyway.
So what can you do to get back on track?
The first thing is to recognise there is actually a problem. I went through this recently and I was really feeling like I’d lost my mojo. I just wasn’t inspired to do my usual writing and blogging. You may have noticed a bit of a gap if you’ve been following my blog!
So I knew there was a problem just because I wasn’t writing every day like usual.
When it was time to sit down and do the work I was drawing a blank and found myself doing something else instead (read a book, watch tv with the family, one night I even did housework!)
But once I realised I did two things. First I reached out to my support network. I’m part of fantastic mastermind crew and just knowing I’m not alone really helps. They had some good solid advice too, which led to the other thing I did.
The other thing I did was to re-focus on my big picture goals. I went for a walk and spent some time thinking about what I am trying to achieve, my end game. It helped me get clear about what I need to be focussing on.
I still feel a bit lacking in inspiration, but that’s ok. I know it will come. And even if it doesn’t I can just go back to the list of ideas I brainstormed at the start of the year and something will jump out at me. So it’s all good. I’m back on track.
And I’ve realised that it’s ok to have a break from time to time. In fact, it’s actually good for you!
